Our Inspiration
According to Vedic wisdom, everything is the cosmos, including the human body, is made up of pancha tattva or the five cardinal elements. These include Akash (Space), Vayu (Air), Jal (Water), Agni (Fire), and Prithvi (Earth).
Each element or panchamahabhoota is associated with a divine entity. Lord Ganesha is the deity associated with the earth element. He is also the god of wisdom and the remover of obstacles (Vighnaharta).
No wonder Lord Ganesha epitomizes nature in so many different ways. The union of Ganesha’s body and elephant head is truly a representation of how the spirit should live in harmony with nature.
Whether it is an outcropping rock, the lines of a mountainside, the shape of a leaf, or the gathering of clouds in the sky, Mother Nature is home to many outlines, shapes, and silhouettes that depict Lord Ganesha.
At Vishwa Vinayak, we devotedly pray to Lord Ganesha who is the Nisargadevta. Also, we believe that, as responsible citizens, it is our collective duty to help protect and preserve the earth’s
Lord Ganesha is our foremost inspiration, who motivates us to think and act in ways that facilitate nature and the environment.
The Early Days
The story of Vishwa Vinayak started with a small Ganesha idol...
Dilip Vaity, Founder-Promoter of Vishwa Vinayak, bought a little Ganesha figurine at an exhibition. He was just 17 at the time and had purchased it from his pocket money. This incident marked the beginning of a life-long and deep-rooted divinity towards Lord Ganesha.
A creatively gifted youngster, Dilip studied at the renowned JJ School of Art, Mumbai. He took a fancy for making decorative themes for the Ganpati festival during his college days. His creative abilities and devotion towards Lord Ganesha is reflected in each of his creations.
After finishing college, Dilip dedicated himself to applying his artistic skills primarily for spiritual and religious projects. His design of the simhasana for Shirdi Sai Baba’s idol is one of his iconic artistic achievements. He did innumerable sketches and paintings of Lord Ganesha and worked on temple installations at many places in and outside Maharashtra.
Over the years, Dilip’s collection of Ganpati idols has multiplied manifold. Today, his residence is home to a highly diversified collection, ranging from a 20-gram idol to a 300 kg huge artwork. In size, the Ganesha idols range from a tiny 0.5 inch object to a 6- foot sculpture. From clay to wood and brass to glass, idols in every imaginable material can be found at Dilip’s place. Idols not only from India, but foreign countries such as Japan, Indonesia, and Cambodia have also ended up in Dilip’s collection.
Dilip’s house in downtown Thane, popularly known as ‘Bappanche Ghar’, is home to 900+ assorted idols. And the huge Vinayaki idol is indeed the centerpiece of attraction in this eclectic collection.
What We Do
Over a span of twenty years, people from different spheres of life have joined hands with Dilip. Ours is a visionary and dynamic team that shares an intense passion for preserving and protecting nature. Though Lord Ganesha is the common thread that binds us all, today Vishwa Vinayak has turned out to a multifaceted organization that spans the entire creative canvas.
We take up projects in art (painting and sculpting), interior design, graphic design, brand identity creation, landscape design, exterior structural decoration and beautification, customized production of corporate merchandise, and travel souvenirs, among others.
In doing so, we provide an opportunity for local designers and artisans to showcase their talent. We help practicing artists turn into lifelong learners and innovators who will make a qualitative difference to the communities in which we live and work.
